We had a great meal. The food was delicious. The portion sizes were adequate (as with Schnitzel, possibly excessive, but in a good way). The atmosphere of the Gaststätte is always vibrant and homely. The staff were attentive and friendly.

We are regulars at the Prater. In summer we enjoy the lovely beer garden, and in winter the cozy restaurant. We highly recommend the German dishes and the beer. The staff is always friendly, courteous, and helpful, which is rare in Berlin.

Authentic Austrian food in the heart of Berlin. I’ve dined here several times with local friends who swear by this place. I went with a work group in March on a Thursday night and it wasn’t crowded (but it is in summer). Our group tried different meatball dishes, the veal Schnitzel, and I had the goulash. Everyone said the food was excellent, and the bubbly golden drinks were authentic and delicious. Definitely worth returning for.
